Only 1 alarm needs to be tested each week but it should be a different alarm each week.

  1. Push the button on only 1 detector each week in the order of the table below.
  2. Listen for an ‘echoing’ alarm sound that tells you all the other detectors have sounded as well as the one you pushed.
  3. Record the date, your initials and tick if it is working OK, cross if it isn’t.
  4. Contact your manager immediately if the alarms don’t go off when you test them.

Week 3: Cupboard Ender the Stairs

Week 4: Entrance Hall

Week 5: Ground Floor Master Bedroom

Week 6: Landing

Week 7: First Floor Double Bedroom

Week 8: First Floor Large Single Bedroom

Week 9: First Floor Small Bedroom

Week 10: Small Eaves Cupboard on Landing

Week 11: Long Eaves Cupboard on Landing

Once you have completed week 11, start again from week 1 on a new sheet so that each alarm is tested every 11 weeks.
