My name is Indiana, and I am the Founder of Clean Gloucestershire. This is how it all began.

I started to clean professionally in 2000 and was lucky enough to have a client who insisted on natural cleaning. She had a 5 bedroom large mews house and insisted that I only use water and eco cloths to clean!

In those days it was not so common and majority of clients would complain if their bathrooms did not smell of bleach or the communal areas did not smell of wood polish! However, it was the best training I ever had. It took me 3 months to work out the most effective techniques to simply clean with water.

Although challenging at the beginning, it quickly became the home I loved cleaning the most. In addition, I am an asthmatic and it was also a home I felt safest in – as the aggravating effects of chemicals on conditions such as mine were widely known and experienced by me first hand, every day.

I now train all my staff in these methods and after their 3 month induction training programme, before I deem that they are sufficiently qualified to remain with Clean Gloucestershire permanently, my team have to achieve effective cleaning with just water. This proves they know how to clean thoroughly, not just “mask clean” by using air fresheners and cleaning products that can compound the dirt.

Naturally, as a professional cleaning company specialising in commercial and clinical settings, we do use safe antibacterial products! However, these are only truly effective when utilised in the process of applying proper cleaning techniques. These can only be learned by starting with the basics – such as cleaning with water. This is why water is at the centre of our brand.
